People have a bad habit of feeding their pets people food. Things like popcorn, pizza, table scraps and so much more. Usually, it’s too much for your dog’s diet and when it comes to the store bought dog cookies they are still full of ingredients that you want to leave out of your dog’s diet, so homemade cookies for your dog can be a good thing. This time I wanted to share with you this one simple recipe to make your pooch happy.
So let’s start, you will need:
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/2 cup (about 1 large) carrot finely grated
- 1/2 cup blended oats (blend them till they look like flour)
Let’s start making treats:
Preheat the oven to 175° C and cover the baking tray with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Mix all four ingredients in a medium bowl.
Use a tablespoon to drop clumps of the mixture onto the baking tray. Shape them if you wish. We just made them in shape of little balls and then pressed onto them, so that they get a little flat.
Bake for 20 minutes, until treats are set. After that, I let them stay in the oven to get a bit harder, because of the apple sauce that I used they were a little soft.
After waiting for some time, you can present them to your little friend. Frost’s mouth turned into the waterfall and he drooled all over the floor when we showed him these cookies. It’s safe to say that he loves fresh homemade cookies way more, because his pupils dilated when he saw them and you know what they say – your pupils dilate when you’re looking at something that you love, haha.
Hope your pooch will enjoy them just as much.
